A true Railway Clock !
A fine and true Oak cased Railway Clock with provenance. This clock originally hung in the station of Dover Marine - Dover Western Docks Station on the Admiralty Pier which is reached from the Viaduct at the end of the A20. The Building is now used as a Cruise Terminal !. The station opened in 1919 and closed in 1994. The South Eastern and Chatham Railway ran this line and the clock has the S.E.C.R. stamped to the back plate of the movement. The clock is numbered 1775 S.E. which is how the information can be verified. The clock then spent some time in the Wimbledon ''Boiler House'' of Durnsford Road, a huge train yard at Wimbledon Station. The clock has a single fusee movement with long pendulum (also numbered). The case is stamped on the back and the dial also shows the Makers John Walker of South Molten Street, London but also bearing the B.R(S). A wonderful example! Sold with a full 24 month guarantee.
As seen on T.V. Salvage Hunters - The Restorers... ! Please remember we are closed Sundays and Mondays, open every other day from 9am until 5pm . If we have not responded to an email, we may not have received it...please call or whatsapp us as well.
