Description

Very rare and fine quality 19th cent mahogany drop dial wall clock with alarm sounding on a bell signed Isaac Simmons, Manchester 1834-1851.

The eight day single fusee movement housed in a mahogany case with exceptional flame veneers....replaced ears. The viewing window with fine wavy border. The original painted iron dial with Roman numerals and arabic numbers for the alarm. very unusual and good quality blued steel Halberd hands ( not to be mistaken for poor quality American hands )and alarm pointer. 12" dial.

The alarm is powered by the pull cord on the side of the movement. We have never seen a drop dial with an alarm before !
