Octagonal Fusee Tavern Clock

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Finchingfield Antiques

Early 19th century octagonal Tavern Clock,

31.5'' diameter,

The massive five pillar spring driven fusee movement with inside counterbalance and shouldered plates, driving very fine brass hands. See comparison with an ordinary dial clock movement.

Now housed in a beautifully made/restored, oak case which we think is an exact replica of the original case for this movement. Clearly made by a skilled craftsman who with solid oak and dovetails copied the same method of construction for an early 19th cent tavern.

Fully overhauled and guaranteed for one year.
