Millot. See photos to the left. The backplate is engraved Le Roy et Fils , Palais Royal 13-15, Paris. Number 12571. The firm of LeRoy was founded by Bazile Charles LeRoy in 1789. He was a clockmaker to the Emperor Napoleon, The Duke of Bourbon, Orleans and Princess Pauline. In 1823, he filed a patent for self-winding atmospheric clock operated by a weather vane. When Charles Louis died in 1865 his son Louis LeRoy carried on the running of the very successful business. The shop in London was at 57 New Bond Street. It was a British Royal Warrant holder under Queen Victoria, and was the only foreign clockmaker that had the British Royal Warrant. The clock strikes the hours on a gong, push repeat and has an alarm function. The silver colour of the case is Rhodium (which will not tarnish) the rest is of course, gold. The masked dial is again quite unusual in that it has red outer minutes. The hands are the classic Breguet' style. As with all our clocks you will receive the hand drawn label. This clock is quite large and viewing is highly recommended. Our overseas customers can take advantage of such great exchange rates too. Sold with a full 24 month R.T.B Guarantee.
