A fine little carriage timepiece by the well known maker A.Margaine. The case is not the usual gilt but a Rhodium finish. It was silver/chrome plated originally around 100 years ago and only traces could be found when we dismantled the clock. We ''refreshed'' it with the most precious of metals, Rhodium which has a similar appearance to silver but does not tarnish (Rhodium is currently 3 times the price of Platinum at $2750 an ounce!) This little timepiece is surprisingly rare and retains its original jeweled lever escapement. Viewing recommended!
