Oliver Sargent Antiques has dated this piece to the 1870s.
Signed to the rear case section with the Crown of Victoria & VR and No 53 being the same as the dial. The fully signed gilt movement retains the same matching numbers to what looks to be a nickel case showing some general wear. The dial has one short craze and hairline at 3 and a shallow edge chip at 1 both as shown in the pics. The watch is in full working order holding time. For the serious collector and probably as a Royal Mail train issued watch, a once in a lifetime opportunity.
