Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Georgian corner cupboards were designed during the eighteenth century to utilise room corners efficiently. They feature geometric proportions, classical architectural details such as dentil cornices or fluted pilasters, and fielded panel doors constructed from fine hardwoods.

Cabinetmakers commonly utilised dense hardwoods such as oak, mahogany, walnut, and yew. Hardware typically consisted of hand-forged brass H-hinges, steel locks, and cast brass escutcheons.

Authentic period pieces display hand-sawn timber marks, dovetail or mortise-and-tenon joinery, original brass hardware with natural oxidisation, and unevenness on rear pine or oak backboards reflecting hand-planed construction.

A standing corner cupboard fits into underutilised corner spaces in dining rooms, hallways, or living areas. It offers substantial concealed storage while introducing natural wood tones that contrast against neutral or modern wall surfaces.

Maintain the timber by dusting with a soft cloth and applying a high-quality beeswax polish once or twice a year. Keep the piece away from direct sunlight and modern heat sources to prevent cracking or drying of the wood.
