Antique Rococo Bracket Clock 1/4 Chiming - Very Large and Stunning!

Standing at 28" in height, this is a very large and impressive bracket clock of excellent quality by the German maker Winterhälter & Hoffmeier. The movement is large and of superb quality, it chimes every quarter and strikes the hours on 5 gongs and the hours.

The clock is a classic Louis XV shape with 'C' scrolls forming the four corners, extending down to the feet. It is constructed of beautiful mahogany and mounted with finely modelled ormolu. Case is glazed to three sides allowing the sunburst pendulum to be seen gently swinging.

The large dial is enamel on copper, lettered with Roman hours and Arabic minutes. It is complete with the original fretted blued steel hands.

The superb movement is by the renown German maker Winterhälter & Hoffmeier, their mark is on the movement backplate. It strikes the quarters and the hours on 5 gongs - click the movie below to hear and see the clock running. It features a repeat cord to the left hand side of the case and is complete with original sunburst pendulum.

Condition of the case is excellent, the mahogany has a good polish and the ormolu mounts and clean and bright with no wear. The dial is also very good with just two very faint hairlines.
