Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

These large antique bronze oriental table lamps date from the 1930 period and follow an archaistic Chinese style with dark bronze metalwork, wood, and fabric components. Each tall lamp features a cast bronze body with intricate relief carvings in a square section, supported by a solid wooden plinth at the base and fitted with a dark pagoda-style fabric lampshade. The metal has an aged patina, and the design incorporates adjustable height bulb sockets along with adjustable frames to raise and lower the shades. The dimensions measure 84 cm high, 51 cm wide, and 15 cm deep. Positioned upon a wide piece of furniture in a home today, this matched pair suits placement on a living room sideboard top or within a gentleman's library. The lamps provide direct downward illumination through their dark textile shades while casting warm light across the detailed bronze surfaces. They add substantial scale and historic character to a traditional interior scheme, serving as functional statement pieces on a large cabinet or console table.

FAQs

Oriental archaistic bronze lamps are inspired by ancient ritual vessel forms, such as Chinese fangding, featuring intricate relief carvings, geometric patterns, and dark patinated finishes.

These lamps are constructed from cast heavy bronze metal bases, often set onto fitted wooden display plinths, and fitted with structured silk or fabric lampshades.

Authentic pieces exhibit heavy cast weight, seam marks consistent with historic casting methods, natural surface oxidisation, and individual hand-carved detailing on the metalwork and wooden bases.

Pairing these lamps symmetrically on a dark wood sideboard, console table, or wide mantelpiece creates balanced proportions and introduces textural contrast against contemporary wall surfaces.

Dust the bronze surfaces regularly with a soft dry cloth, avoiding liquid chemicals or abrasive polishes that can strip the natural patination and aged finish of the metal.
