Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This large early 20th-century decorative hanging grape drop is formed from moulded glass in an emerald green colour, featuring a heavily textured grape cluster surface and a tapered drop shape. A metal suspension cap sits at the top with a loop fitting for hanging, complemented by the translucent quality of the glass catch-light highlights. Measuring 30 cm in height and 18 cm in width, the piece provides a striking botanical accent. Traditionally designed as a decorative element with Victorian influences, this pendant style works well suspended in a sunlit conservatory or as an ornamental focal point in a high-ceilinged interior space. The heavy glass formation catches daylight, while the graduated tones of green shift from vibrant top sections to darker shades at the pointed base.

FAQs

Glass grape drop pendants are hanging light shades or decorative drops crafted in the form of a botanical grape cluster. Popularised in nineteenth and early twentieth-century European glassmaking, these fixtures combine functional illumination with naturalistic forms.

These fixtures typically feature press-moulded or hand-blown coloured lead glass suspended from brass, copper, or iron metal fittings and chain loops.

Authentic period examples often feature slight asymmetry, natural air bubbles or inclusions within the glass matrix, hand-tooled metal caps, and gentle surface patina on metal mountings.

Hang the glass pendant as a focal point in a hallway, above a dining counter, or within a conservatory to cast warm, jewel-toned green reflections across surrounding surfaces.

Dust the exterior regularly using a soft dry microfibre cloth. For deeper cleaning, unmount the shade and wipe carefully with warm water and mild soapy water, avoiding harsh chemicals and keeping metal fittings completely dry.
