This turquoise green wine glass dates to the Victorian period, originating in England around 1900. The piece is formed from coloured glass with a polished pontil and a smooth finish, standing at a height of 11.5 cm with a bowl diameter of 7.1 cm and a foot diameter of 6.8 cm. The cup-shaped bowl is decorated with hand-engraved star motifs arranged in bands across the surface, supported by a plain slender stem above a spreading conical foot. The glass shows light age-related wear while remaining free from chips, cracks, or restoration. In a modern interior, this item suits a display on a sideboard top, either on its own or grouped within a collection of nineteenth-century coloured drinking vessels. The vibrant green shade and star engraving catch and reflect the light effectively when placed in a dining room or living space. The traditional form and colour bring a classic English country house aesthetic to a tabletop display.

During the late Victorian and Edwardian periods, manufacturers began producing stemware in vivid hues like turquoise, emerald, and cranberry to complement formal dinner tables. These glasses often featured wheel-cut or etched patterns, moving away from heavy cut crystal toward lighter, decorative glassware designs.

These goblets were created by hand-blowing tinted glass into shapes with attached stems and feet. Decorative patterns, such as starbursts or delicate scrolls, were subsequently added using copper wheel engraving or acid etching techniques.

Authentic pieces typically display slight hand-made variations in glass thickness, faint wear lines consistent with age on the base, and polished pontil marks. The engraving will show micro-imperfections characteristic of hand-cut craftsmanship rather than uniform machine production.

Coloured vintage stemware can be styled on a dining table to create visual contrast against neutral linens, or displayed inside glass-fronted cabinets and on sideboard tops where light can pass through the tinted glass.

Hand wash antique glassware individually in lukewarm water using mild dish soap and a soft cloth. Avoid hot water, harsh chemical cleaners, and dishwashers, which can cause clouding or thermal shock to delicate historical glass.
