Exhibit Antiques has dated these Victorian Champagne Flute Glasses to the Victorian era.
An excellent set of six matching mid-19th century champagne flute glasses dating to c1850.
They have tall round funnel bowls with elegant flute cutting to the lower section.
They stand on conical feet with polished pontils.

Champagne flutes became increasingly fashionable during the mid-19th century as sparkling wines grew in popularity amongst the Victorian middle and upper classes. The elongated bowl was designed to preserve the wine's effervescence for longer than the traditional coupe, whilst the deep flute cutting catches and reflects the light, enhancing both the brilliance of the glass and the appearance of the wine.

A particularly attractive and practical matching set, equally suited to collectors of Victorian table glass or for continued use at the table today.
