The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

FAQs

An Edwardian silver cauldron mustard pot is a small tabletop condiment container produced during the early twentieth century, designed in the distinct form of a miniature cauldron or potjie, complete with handles and tripod feet.

These mustard pots were typically crafted from solid sterling silver or silver plate, frequently fitted with glass liners or matching miniature silver spoons to protect the metal from corrosive salts and acids in condiments.

Authentic pieces bear official British hallmarks, including the lion passant for sterling silver, an assay office symbol, a date letter ranging from 1901 to 1910, and a makers mark.

Antique silver condiment pots can be displayed on a sideboard, styled on a dining table tray, or incorporated into a collection of period silver items on open shelving to add historical detail.

Clean silver using a gentle silver polishing cloth or specialized non-abrasive silver foam, ensuring all condiment residue is rinsed thoroughly to prevent tarnishing and metal pitting.
