A Georgian baluster wine glass is an 18th-century English drinking vessel characterised by a stem shaped into architectural baluster knops, supporting bowls of various shapes such as bell or trumpet forms.

These glasses were typically hand-blown using heavy flint glass or lead crystal, featuring hand-tooled stems, drawn or attached bowls, and folded or domed feet.

Authentic pieces generally exhibit subtle striations within the glass, small enclosed air bubbles, a rough or snapped pontil mark on the base, and age-appropriate friction wear on the rim of the foot.

Antique stemware can be displayed inside illuminated glass cabinets, arranged on brass bar carts, or grouped along a sideboard top to allow natural light to filter through the glass.

Antique glass should be hand-washed individually in lukewarm water using mild detergent and dried immediately with a lint-free cloth to prevent thermal shock and water staining.
