18th Century Silver Serving Spoon

Description

A good example of a large 18th Century solid Sterling silver spoon. It is a large tablespoon size or small serving spoon. It is a simple design with an elongated handle and a shell motif on the back of the bowl. There are faint engraved initials B.B on the back of the handle. It is a good quality piece and weighs approximately 51g.

It is clearly hallmarked for London, 1741.

It is in excellent condition for its age. There are no major damages and it displays beautifully. There are some faint surface scratches and a few light marks but nothing detrimental. It has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.

Length : 8" / 20cm

Bowl : 2 3/4" / 7cm x 1 1/2" / 4cm
