Puckerings has dated this Art Deco Silver Tray to the 1930s.

The underside is fully marked for the famous English silversmith, Mappin and Webb together with "Sheffield & London" and "Mappin Plate"
Designed by Keith Murray for Mappin & Webb. Keith Murray (1892-1981) was born in New Zealand and moved to the UK with his parents when he was 14.

He trained as an architect and worked as an illustrator before becoming a designer. During the 1930’s he produced designs in glass for Stevens & Williams, ceramic for Wedgwood and for silver manufacturers Mappin and Webb. His designs are now much sort after. Following the second world war, he returned to his career as an architect.
