FAQs

Art Deco silver plated barware from the 1920s and 1930s is characterised by clean geometric lines, streamlined contours, and functional elegance reflecting the modern aesthetic of the period.

Trays were typically constructed from a base metal, such as nickel silver or electroplated nickel silver, onto which a layer of pure silver was electrochemically deposited to achieve a reflective finish.

Authentic pieces generally feature maker marks or hallmarks stamped on the underside, period-appropriate geometric or streamlined handles, and a balanced, heavy structural weight.

A silver cocktail tray can be placed on a sideboard, coffee table, or bar cart to group crystal decanters, glassware, or decorative objects, creating a structured display area.

Clean silver plate using a soft cloth and a gentle silver polish formulated specifically for plated items, avoiding abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that can wear down the thin silver layer.
