The World is Made of Glass Ltd. has dated this Georgian Cut Glass Jug to the 19th Century.
The jug is in excellent condition for its age. It shows age related wear and tear to the rim of the base consistent with some 200 years of use.
The neck of the jug has four partial-cut annular neck rings below prism cutting. The pouring lip is extended and notch-cut. The shoulders and body are pillar-cut.
The base measures 10 cm (4 inches) in diameter and has radial cutting to the edge. The jug measures 21 cm (8.4 inches) in height. The applied handle was first applied to the top of the jug and then finished off in the middle. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious evidence of restoration. It has been professionally cleaned.
