This Edwardian ceramic vase stands as an authentic example of the Art Nouveau style, originating from the Minton Secessionist line around 1905. The object takes a distinct form with a slender neck widening into a flared base, finished in a high-gloss red glaze. Detailed decoration includes tube-lined green and white motifs incorporating stylized floral patterns and geometric scrolls encircling the upper section. Measuring 24 cm tall, the vase functions as a decorative display piece suitable for placement on a mantelpiece or side table within a home interior. The original glazed ceramic construction maintains its bright surface sheen and defined relief lines around the collar and body, preserving the distinct visual character typical of early twentieth-century British art pottery.

Minton Secessionist ware was developed around 1900 under designers Leon Solon and John Wadsworth, taking visual cues from the Viennese Secession and Art Nouveau movements to introduce modern art pottery techniques to commercial ceramic production.

Tube lining involves piping a thin trail of liquid clay slip onto the unfired ceramic body to create raised outlines, which physically separate colourful lead glazes during the firing process.

Authentic pieces typically bear printed or impressed Minton backmarks on the base, often accompanied by the word Secessionist or specific design numbers alongside characteristic raised slip-trailed outlines.

Display the ceramic vase on a mantelpiece, console table, or open shelving as a focal accent, allowing its contrasting glazes to complement neutral backdrops or dark timber furniture.

Wash gently by hand using lukewarm water and a mild liquid detergent, avoiding abrasive sponges, harsh chemicals, or prolonged soaking that could alter sensitive glazes or surface crazing.
