Collinge Antiques has dated this Georgian Oak Tack Cupboard to the Georgian era.
Internal depth of the top is 21". On a base with with an open top to allow for extra hanging length inside (57" from the top of the rail) over three short and two long drawers. Broad moulded cornice over lovely arch top raised and fielded panel doors with unusual burr walnut veneer crossbanding. Architectural fluted column pilasters flanking the doors, note how the moulding steps forward top and bottom to emphasise this detail. Rectangular raised and fielded panels above the drawers, cock beaded drawer fronts retaining the original brass swan neck handles. Deep moulded trim around the base balancing the broad multiple mouldings at the waist. Raised and fielded oak panels at the sides, oak drawer linings and backboards. Key supplied for the right hand door (note the little wooden bolt on the left hand door). Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
