Victorian Silver Salt Dish

Description

A good quality Victorian silver salt cellar. It is a squat shape with a rounded bowl and three hooved feet. It has a crimped rim and repousse foliate decoration above a gadrooned border.

It is hallmarked for Birmingham, 1891 although the maker's mark is worn. It weighs approximately 56g.

It is in good condition for its age. There are some signs of age and use, a few faint surface marks and a small dent on one edge but no major damages. There are some spots of tarnishing in places but overall it displays well. It has been lightly cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
