A Stylish George IV Silver Cream Jug

Description

A fine silver cream jug, dating to the reign of King George IV and the latter part of the Regency period. This stylish example is of excellent gauge silver. The rounded, squat body stands on a raised base. There is an applied reeded central border, which is repeated to the shaped and looped handle. To the tail of the handle is acanthus leaf detail and the elegantly shaped pouring lip is wide for ease of use. An excellent example of desirable Georgian table silver, with a practical use. Dimensions below.
