Description

A very fine early 19th Century well figured flame mahogany linen press of exceptional quality, stunningly hand carved with beautifully rich patination, grain and with delicate line throughout. The moulded and stepped cavetto pediment is raised over an elegantly simple frieze above a pair of panelled doors featuring striking line inlaid oval and rectangular panels to the central reserve, finely cast brass escutcheons, a key and which open to reveal an adjustable shelved interior. Raised above a chest base with an arrangement of two short and two long graduated drawers, all cockbeaded with finely turned pulls and brass escutcheons, terminating on elegant ogee bracket foot.
