Victorian glassware encompasses a wide range of decorative and utilitarian items produced during the reign of Queen Victoria, often characterised by mould-blown techniques, intricate cutting, and innovative stem designs like hollow channels intended to enhance the effervescence of sparkling wines.

These items were typically made from lead crystal or soda-lime glass, shaped using traditional glassblowing and mould-pressing methods by skilled artisans.

Authenticity is determined by examining pontil marks, surface wear consistent with age, weight, slight imperfections or bubbles within the glass matrix, and the specific manufacturing techniques typical of nineteenth-century glasshouses.

Antique glassware can be displayed on a bar cart, within an illuminated cabinet, or used functionally during special gatherings to add historic texture and tactile elegance to contemporary table settings.

They require careful hand washing in lukewarm water with mild detergent, avoiding sudden temperature changes, and should never be placed in a dishwasher to protect the delicate historic material.
