This Edwardian scent bottle takes a curved horn form in deep cranberry red glass, paired with a hallmarked sterling silver top. The piece displays a heavily faceted, cut glass body with distinct rounded ridges along its entire length, alongside an ornate hinged metal cap featuring embossed detailing and a textured rim. The bright silver hardware sits securely on the narrow neck of the bottle, showing a polished finish that contrasts with the rich red tone of the transparent material below. Measuring 8 cm across, the vessel sits compactly on a surface and is suitable for display or use upon a bedroom dressing table or a bedside table. The design reflects Victorian and Gothic influences typical of the period, offering an unusual decorative accent for an interior collection. The solid construction and compact profile make it a practical historic accessory that integrates smoothly into domestic spaces today.

Edwardian scent bottles from the early twentieth century often feature silver caps or collars paired with coloured or cut glass bodies. Designs frequently incorporated motifs such as scrolls or foliate engraving, produced for dressing tables and personal vanity sets.

Cranberry glass is created by adding gold salts or colloidal gold to molten glass mixture. This craft method produces a red hue ranging from soft pink to deep ruby, which requires controlled heating cycles to achieve uniform colour distribution.

Authentic British pieces from this era carry official silver hallmarks including a makers mark, town mark, lion passant for sterling purity, and a date letter. The glass should show hand-cut facets or hand-blown characteristics, including wear consistent with age around the base and stopper join.

Smaller scent bottles can be styled on a brass vanity tray, arranged inside a glass display cabinet, or positioned on a bedroom nightstand alongside books to add colour and texture to a room scheme.

Clean the silver cap gently using a soft silver polishing cloth, avoiding liquids that might penetrate the stopper seal. Wipe the external glass with a dry or slightly damp microfibre cloth without submerging the piece in water, as moisture can weaken internal mounts or damage residual contents.
