This is a Georgian, English, multi spiral air twist wine glass of Jacobite significance dating from the middle of the 18th century, c1750. The glass is in excellent condition for its age. It shows age related wear and tear to the rim of the foot commensurate with some 250 years of use. It has a rough pontil mark on the underside of the foot. The glass has a trumpet-shaped bowl measuring 6 cm (2.4 inches) in diameter at the rim. The bowl is engraved with a six petal rose (for the House of Stuart), open and closed rose buds (for James and Bonny Prince Charlie), an oak leaf (for the Boscobel oak) and the word ''Fiat'' in script. The bowl sits on a multi spiral air twist stem and a conical foot which measures 6.8 cm (2.7 inches) in diameter. The glass is 15.6 cm (6.2 inches) in height.
