London City Antiques has dated this Georgian Mahogany Linen Press to the 1800s.
Originally these pieces were designed to store household linens and clothing, often within sliding trays above and drawers below, making them some of the most practical and desirable forms of Georgian furniture today.

The base is fitted with two short drawers above two long graduating drawers, all retaining elegant oval brass handles and original key escutcheons. The drawer fronts display attractive figuring with fine satinwood crossbanding and clean restrained Georgian lines. The cabinet stands on shaped bracket feet and has a superb rich warm colour throughout.

A highly versatile and decorative antique wardrobe that would work beautifully in a bedroom, dressing room, country house or period interior.
Condition report
Presented in good antique condition with age related wear and character marks consistent with use and age. The interior is clean and practical for everyday use. A well cared for example with excellent colour and patina.
