A very attractive and unusual mantel/bracket clock with Brockot visible escapement.Housed in an upright, clinically lined case, constructed from faux tortoiseshell, finishing in a plinth base.The 5'' (13cm) white enamel dial has black Roman numerals and birdsbeak hands. It is free of any chips, cracks or crazing. It is surrounded by a cast brass, gilt bezel with thick, bevelled glass.Of additional interest, it has a Brockot visible escapement where the action of the ''escape'' mechanism can be seen working.The 8day movement by S MARTI of PARIS, strikes on a bell on the half-hour and the hour. It has an outside count wheel.
