A Fabulous Georgian Cut Glass Lidded Butter Dish

A fabulous cut glass butter dish from the Georgian period. This gorgeous example is of rounded form, with stunning cutting to the body and lid, in the Irish taste. The base is cut with an elaborate multi-point star and there is extensive cut decoration to both parts. The lid is removed via a facet cut knop and there is a cut plinth foot. These fine pieces are good collector's items and rather difficult to find, particularly with lids intact. A good example both practical and decorative. Dimensions below.
