An exceptional Bristol Blue Georgian Irish Whiskey Mell Decanter dating to c1830.
A wide, pouring lip leads down to a slender neck, hand-painted and gilded with wildflowers in red, orange, and yellow. This continues down to a floral cartouche of similar flowers (which could be Fuchsia) with the central gilded 'Whiskey' . Polished pontil.
In Scotland, whisky is spelt without the 'e as opposed to Whiskey in Ireland.

Condition
Excellent. Age-related wear. No chips, cracks, or restoration. Clean and clear. The gilding and paintwork to the neck has worn through handling over the last 200 years.
