An air twist glass features a stem containing elongated air bubbles twisted into a spiral formation, typically produced during the mid-18th century in Britain.

These pieces were hand-blown using lead glass, with the twist created by drawing air from inside the molten metal or a closed bubble during the forming process before stretching and twisting the stem.

Authentic pieces exhibit characteristics such as a rough snapped pontil mark on the base, minor surface wear consistent with age, variations in weight, and tiny imperfections or inclusions within the handmade glass.

An antique glass can be displayed within a glazed cabinet, on a mirrored tray, or styled on a sideboard to add historical texture and reflective sparkle to a contemporary setting.

Antique glass should be washed by hand in lukewarm water using mild detergent, dried immediately with a lint-free cloth, and kept out of direct sunlight and temperature fluctuations.
