We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Georgian era, spanning from 1714 to 1830, produced glassware characterised by heavy lead content, deep rich tones achieved through metal oxides, and robust, hand-blown forms with distinctive pontil marks.

Antique glass should always be washed by hand in lukewarm water using mild detergent, avoiding sudden temperature changes and abrasive sponges, and dried carefully with a lint-free cloth.

These items can be displayed as statement pieces on open shelving, used on a dining table to add historical depth and colour contrast, or integrated into a cabinet display alongside contemporary ceramics.

Authenticity is determined by examining weight, pontil marks on the base, minor irregularities from hand-blowing, and the depth of the glass colour, which differs from modern mass-produced items.

These pieces were typically crafted from lead crystal or potash glass, incorporating minerals like manganese to impart deep amethyst or purple hues, and were entirely hand-blown and shaped by skilled artisans.
