Monster Size 17th Century Antique Planked Oak Coffer from Cumbria

This is an amazing, early 17th century period oak antique planked coffer of huge scale. In wonderful, totally original condition and a lovely dry finish. Spent its life in a remote Cumbrian farmhouse, made from wide planked oak boards with solid oak corner posts and central supports to the base and bottom. Complete with the very large original iron strap hinges. A superb example of an early, period oak English piece of furniture, hard to find in such large proportions, a stunning piece and being so honest. A fair weight! English and dating to around 1630. Perfect for a large room with great storage capacity.
