A charming blush ivory porcelain reticulated bud vase made at the Grainger factory in Worcester in the 1880s.
Commercially produced reticulated porcelain was an art at which Grainger exceled.
At the Great Exhibition in 1851 Grainger displayed pierced porcelain and by the last quarter of the century craftsmen of the factory perfected the technology and were able to produce intricate pieces of finest quality. No other factory consistently produced such fine pierced wares, some of which are simply breathtaking.
This bud vase is one of such immaculately elegant and stylish pieces, delicate as fine lace and light as a feather.
To add to the collector’s joy, it’s been well looked after and remains in perfect condition.
Dimensions: 12 cm high, 7 cm diameter.
Condition: excellent.
