Ruby overlay glass, also known as flashed glass, is produced by fusing a thin layer of ruby-coloured glass over a clear glass base before cutting through the coloured layer to reveal decorative patterns below.

These decanters were mouth-blown using lead crystal, followed by hand-casing or overlaying with coloured glass, and finished with wheel-cut facets and slice cuts to create geometric designs.
