Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

This George III bedside cupboard dates to the Georgian period and follows an English Country House style. Constructed from mahogany with a warm brown colour and aged patina, the piece stands on four tall square legs joined by an X-frame stretcher. Further visual details include a gallery tray top with wavy edges, a single panelled cupboard door opening to the right, and a circular brass handle. Measuring 90 cm high, 32 cm wide and 32 cm deep, it provides a compact storage footprint for daily bedroom essentials. Practical for modern interiors, this bedside cupboard functions well positioned in an empty corner of a bedroom or dressing room, or alongside a guest bed. The elevated cabinet keeps personal items neatly enclosed out of sight, while the raised tray top prevents small objects from rolling off the surface. Its slender proportions suit smaller spaces while adding period character to traditional room schemes.

Originating in 18th-century Britain during the reign of King George III, a pot cupboard was a small bedside cabinet designed to discreetly store a chamber pot while providing a flat upper surface for a washbasin or lamp.

Georgian bedside cupboards were typically constructed from solid mahogany and mahogany veneers, featuring hand-dovetailed cabinet joinery, shaped gallered tops, cross-stretched legs, and hand-forged brass fittings.

Authentic 18th-century pieces display hand-sawn timber marks, hand-carved joinery, original oak or pine secondary woods within the carcass, age-appropriate surface patination, and period brass hardware.

These versatile pieces function effectively as compact bedside tables, occasional side tables alongside armchairs, or functional accent stands in narrow hallways and living room corners.

Dust regularly with a soft dry microfibre cloth, apply beeswax polish sparingly along the grain once or twice a year, and position the timber away from direct radiators or variable atmospheric humidity.
