Art Nouveau glassware is characterised by organic forms, fluid lines inspired by nature, and innovative chemical treatments to achieve iridescent surfaces.

Maker workshops utilised complex formulations of metallic oxides fused into hot blown glass, often employing specialized cooling methods to create crackled or textured finishes.

Authentic pieces typically exhibit ground pontil marks on the base, distinct weight appropriate for handblown glass, and characteristic optical phenomena within the iridescent layer.

Display the piece on a flat surface with neutral backlighting to accentuate the iridescent sheen and textural qualities without competing visual distractions.

Clean gently with a soft, dry cloth or lukewarm water without harsh chemical detergents to protect the delicate metallic surface layer.
