Edwardian silverwork spans from 1901 to 1910, often blending classical revival motifs with emerging arts and crafts or art nouveau influences, frequently featuring lighter proportions than heavy Victorian pieces.

These items typically combine sterling silver mounts and lids, often assayed in cities like Birmingham or Sheffield, with cut or moulded glass bodies that were sometimes hand-enamelled.

Authentic pieces carry stamped hallmarks indicating the assay office, a lion passant for sterling silver, a date letter specific to the year of manufacture, and the makers mark.

Such decorative silver and glass items can be displayed on open shelving, dining sideboards, or curated tablescapes to add historical texture and reflective metallic accents.

Silver components should be cleaned gently using a non-abrasive silver cloth to preserve the patina, avoiding harsh dips, while the glass body can be washed with mild soapy water.
