Small Georgian Mahogany Bow Front Corner Cupboard Apprentice Piece

£350    $471    €400
A magnificent and unusually small antique George III mahogany and inlaid bow fronted corner hanging cupboard dating from circa 1800. Possibly an apprentice piece or salesmen’s sample, this cupboard is of unusually small proportions; ideal for a smaller space or in a bathroom or hall perhaps. Having an inlaid arched breakfront pediment over an inlaid moulded cornice above twin doors inlaid with satinwood stringing, centred with shell paterae and with fancy brass hinges. The mahogany with good figuring and patina, profusely decorated with marquetry inlay throughout. It comes with a working lock and key and has an attractive fancy brass escutcheon. The doors open to reveal storage inside with a painted finish and two shaped shelves. A wonderful deep colour with beautiful age and patina.
