Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

During the 1920s and 1930s, Rene Lalique transitioned from jewellery making to master glassmaker, producing iconic Art Deco pressed and moulded glass sculptures, car mascots, and paperweights. Bird motifs were a signature theme, reflecting the naturalistic influences of the movement rendered in stylized, geometric forms.

These pieces were created using heavy demi-crystal glass pressed into multi-part metal moulds. A combination of satin-acid etching, frosting, and polished relief highlights was applied to create visual contrast between light and shade.

Authentic period pieces typically feature hand-etched, wheel-cut, or moulded signatures such as R. LALIQUE FRANCE. Genuine examples exhibit high-density glass clear of modern bubbles, precise mould seam polishing, and specific model proportions corresponding to historical catalogue numbers.

Small glass sculptures provide visual texture when positioned on structured surfaces such as an office desk, mantelpiece, or styled atop a stack of art books. Lighting the piece from behind or above highlights the translucency and relief details of the frosted finish.

Dust regularly with a soft microfibre cloth. For cleaning, hand wash gently in tepid water with a mild, non-abrasive dish soap, avoiding harsh chemical sprays or abrasive pads that could scratch the acid-etched frosted surface.
