Arundel Clocks has dated this French Moon Phase Carriage Clock to the 1870s.
I have for sale an a1870s French striking and repeating Grand sonnerie with date work and alarm plus moon -phase carriage clock made in France ,the clock case has been fully restored the movement has also been fully restored with new springs added and is running strong keeping time and striking correctly with the repeat button on the top all running via the original again restored silvered platform.

Again this clock was restored by Peter Bonnett before his sad passing.
The Case
The case is in solid shiny gilt brass and stands 21cm high x 10cm wide with a depth of 9cm it is in original condition with a thick 5mm beveled front/back door and top viewing glass again all in mint condition.

The case is very shiny and hard to photograph they do not do the clock justice at all.
At the base is the lever for silent or quarters or grand Sonnerie all working correctly.
The Dial

The Movement
The movement is an eight-day time and strike which strikes the hours, quarters and halves and three quarters via two blue steel gongs to the rear also has the repeater button on top to repeat the last hour strike, the movement has been fully restored and running and striking 100% correctly.

This clock also has a fully functional alarm and date work.
The clock also contains Genre stop work to stop over winding a top-quality feature only found on top-end clocks.
At the bottom of the case is a lever for full striking or just hour striking or Silent so you have all three options.

The photos do not do justice to this lovely old clock.
As with all my clocks, this one is sold with a ‘back-to-base’ 3-month guarantee. I also offer future clock servicing, which I carry out personally at a heavily discounted rate.
