Edwardian silver reflects the elegance and refinement of the early 20th century, often drawing inspiration from earlier Georgian and neoclassical motifs, featuring lighter proportions and polished surfaces.

These pieces are typically fashioned from sterling silver using traditional silversmithing techniques such as raising, casting, and hand-finishing to achieve the characteristic baluster form and detailed handles.

Authenticity is verified by examining hallmarks stamped on the metal, which indicate the assay office, the makers mark, and a date letter corresponding to the Edwardian period between 1901 and 1910.

An antique silver jug can be integrated into modern spaces by displaying it on a sideboard or mantelpiece as a reflective metallic accent, or by using it functionally as a small vase for fresh stems.

Antique silver should be cleaned periodically using a specialized non-abrasive silver polish and a soft cloth to remove tarnish, avoiding harsh chemical dips that can damage the underlying metal and finishes.
