Art Deco jewellery is characterised by geometric precision, stylised motifs, and a transition away from the flowing curves of the preceding Edwardian and Art Nouveau periods, often incorporating strong lines and symmetry.

Jewellery from this era frequently utilised yellow gold, platinum, and diamonds featuring older cutting styles such as old European cut or old mine cut, which exhibit distinct facet arrangements compared to modern round brilliants.

Authentic pieces typically display period-appropriate craftsmanship, hand-cut gemstones with characteristic irregular facets, and hallmarks or makers marks corresponding to historical assay offices.

Vintage rings can be worn as standalone statement pieces or stacked with modern minimalist bands to create a contemporary contrast that highlights the historic character of the jewellery.

Regular professional inspections of the setting claws are essential to ensure the stone remains secure, alongside gentle cleaning with warm soapy water and a soft brush while avoiding harsh chemical ultrasonic cleaners.
