Georgian and Regency glassware is characterised by heavy lead content, deep hand-cut geometric motifs, and classic classical proportions that reflect the neoclassical design influences of the period.

Authentic period pieces were crafted from heavy potash lead glass, hand-blown into moulds or free-blown, and then meticulously finished using wheel-cutting techniques.

Authenticity is identified by examining the grey wear marks on the base, the characteristic dark refractive index of the heavy lead metal, and the slight irregularities typical of hand-cut craftsmanship.

Positioning the glass piece on a reflective surface or a mantelpiece allows natural light to interact with the deep crystal facets, adding texture and historical contrast to contemporary spaces.

Clean antique glass exclusively by hand using lukewarm water and mild detergent, avoiding harsh scrubbing and sudden temperature changes to protect the fragile lead composition.
