Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Opalescent glass became highly prominent during the 1920s Art Deco movement in France, led by glassmakers who experimented with chemical additives to produce translucent, light-diffusing properties within moulded forms.

Opalescent glass is formed by adding compounds such as bone ash or fluorine to molten glass, which react during controlled cooling to create a milky, semi-opaque effect highlighted by polished or frosted surface finishes.

Authentic pieces typically display sharp moulded detailing, subtle blue-white optical depth, correct period signatures such as R. LALIQUE cast or acid-etched into the glass, and high-quality hand-finishing along edges and bases.

Place the bowl on a sideboard, coffee table, or window sill where natural light can pass through the vessel to highlight the translucent blue and white undertones of the design.

Clean the glass gently by hand using lukewarm water and mild dish detergent, avoiding abrasive materials, harsh chemical cleansers, and sudden temperature fluctuations that could induce thermal stress.
