The Edwardian period, spanning from 1901 to 1910, was characterised by a revival of lighter, more delicate designs often drawing inspiration from 18th-century classical motifs, moving away from heavy Victorian ornamentation.

These pieces were typically crafted from lead crystal or flint glass, shaped using traditional glassblowing techniques and finished with hand-cut facets and wheel-engraved surface patterns.

Authentic pieces often exhibit minor surface wear, pontil marks on the base, slight irregularities indicative of handcrafting, and the characteristic weight and ring associated with period lead crystal.

Such items can be displayed within glass-fronted cabinets, used as accent pieces on a dining table, or utilised to hold single stems in minimalist floral arrangements.

Antique glassware should always be washed by hand in lukewarm water using mild detergent, avoiding sudden temperature changes and abrasive sponges to prevent thermal shock and surface scratching.
