This is a small Georgian, English double series opaque twist wine glass dating from the middle of the 18th century, c1765. The glass is in excellent condition for its age. It shows age related wear and tear to the rim of the foot commensurate with some 250 years of use. It has a rough pontil mark on the underside of the foot. The glass has an ovoid bowl measuring 5.2 cm (2.1 inches) in diameter at the rim. The bowl is plain and sits on a double series opaque twist stem consisting of three white enamel cords wound around a central lace twist. The stem leads to a conical foot which measures 6.9 cm (2.7 inches) in diameter. The glass is 13.3 cm (5.3 inches) in height. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious evidence of restoration. There are some small inclusions in the metal of the bowl dating from manufacture.
