Georgian glassware from around 1790 typically exhibits heavy lead metal content, known as flint glass, with hand-blown features, pontil marks on the base, and characteristic simple cutting or flute moulding.

These drinking vessels were traditionally made from potash-lime glass or lead crystal, often featuring natural imperfections, bubbles, and striations resulting from historical glasshouse manufacturing techniques.

Authentic pieces display a rough or polished pontil scar on the underside, genuine wear consistent with age, slightly uneven walls from free-blowing, and the characteristic greyish refraction of period lead glass.

Antique glass adds subtle texture and historical contrast when displayed within traditional drinks cabinets, open shelving, or styled subtly on bar carts alongside contemporary elements.

Antique glass should be hand washed gently using warm water and mild detergent, avoiding harsh scrubbing or sudden temperature changes to protect the fragile historical material.
