Cross Antiques has dated this piece to the 18th Century.
The case is solid mahogany and is very good quality but is now an attractive faded colour.
The 8 day movement strikes the hours on a bell and has a smart, possibly associated, brass dial. To the arch is a dial that should indicate the phase of the moon but this is fixed in position but still looks most attractive.
The movement is in working order but is offered as a trade sale, as is and without any guarantee.
