A rummer is a type of heavy drinking glass with a short stem, broad foot, and wide bowl, widely manufactured in Britain from the late eighteenth century throughout the nineteenth century for serving spirits, wine, and beer.

Victorian rummers were typically blown from high-refractive lead crystal or soda glass, which was then hand-cut using abrasive wheels to create facets, panels, or petal motifs.

Authentic nineteenth-century pieces usually exhibit weight from lead content, slight hand-blown variations, polished pontil marks on the foot, and sharp, wheel-cut faceting rather than rounded moulded lines.

These vessels can be displayed in groups on a dining room sideboard, arranged inside a glass cabinet, or integrated into contemporary tablescapes for functional dining styling.

Clean antique glassware by hand in lukewarm water using mild detergent and a soft cloth, avoiding dishwashers, extreme temperature changes, and harsh abrasives to prevent clouding or cracking.
